We are so excited our SURGE Connect virtual conference is almost here!

Each day of SURGE Connect begins with a keynote interview, conducted by AssociationSuccess.org’s content manager Chelsea Brasted, meant to present new ideas and creative connections between association professionals and experts in other industries. For SURGE Connect, we’ve got a diverse trio of conversations dedicated to brain science, cybersecurity and entrepreneurism thanks to keynote interviewees Alexander McCobin, Jo Boaler and Thomas Parenty.

Register for all of SURGE Connect here, or get registration details about each of the keynote interviews below.

Alexander is CEO of Conscious Capitalism, Inc., a company dedicated to elevating humanity by improving the practice and perception of business. McCobin discusses the entrepreneurial lessons leaders of associations and other nonprofits can use to get through the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.

“There is a whole new economy about to start up when we get back to

business, for both for-profits and nonprofits. It’s going to be one that

emphasizes the human nature of business even more.”

Alexander has been inspired by business leaders dedicated to changing the world. His optimistic interview will be a great start to your day and a source of inspiration for your organizations. Register for “Purpose despite peril, with Conscious Capitalism CEO Alexander McCobin” to learn more.

Dr. Jo Boaler is a professor of education at Stanford University and author of “Limitless Mind: Learn, Lead & Live Without Barriers.” Using neuroscience and education research, Boaler argues that just knowing you can change and grow is all it takes to start doing so, and she gives us know-how to make it happen.

“We know that people with a growth mindset who believe that they can learn anything actually go further. We also know that when you change people’s mindsets, and they can change at any time, they go on a different pathway from that point onwards, a more successful pathway.”

Dr. Boaler is the author of fourteen books, numerous research articles and several online courses. With the depth of her knowledge, Dr. Boaler has been a great asset to SURGE Connect 2020, and she will continue to be an asset to our audience. Register for “Unlocking the keys to a ‘Limitless Mind’ with Dr. Jo Boaler” to hear more.

Thomas Parenty is the executive director of Archefact Group, an international cybersecurity expert and the author of two Harvard Business Review Press books. In this session, Parenty explains how an association leader can – and should be – proactive about cybersecurity.

“Because of the pandemic, people are conducting business in a very, very different way than many of us were just a couple of months ago. And because the way in which we do business and the way in which we use technology is different, that introduces new risk.”

Parenty has testified five times before the U.S Congress on encryption, national security, law enforcement and global competitiveness. If he can instruct our government, he is more than capable of instructing us. Register for “Cybersecurity for association leaders with Thomas Parenty” to learn more.
