SURGE: Know Before You Go

Written by Elizabeth Graham on April 30, 2019

SURGE Co-Creation is our free interactive virtual conference for association professionals - and it’s happening May 1st-3rd!

Here are some things to know before you go:

The Basics

What to expect:

The event consists of 12 sessions, shown over three days, from 12-4PM EDT. As the sessions play, an attendee chat will run alongside. Speakers will also be in the chat, answering all of your questions and sharing resources!

A LOT of great information will be shared, and that is why goes through the chat and the sessions after the fact to pull out the best insights. These make their way into session-related eBooks so that the knowledge sharing can continue.

What to bring:

An appetite for learning - and for sharing! SURGE is all about collaborating across industries, organizations, and countries.

Where to participate:

Anywhere! Such is the beauty of virtual events: rally together with some colleagues, or tune in from your kitchen table in your pyjamas. Social media enthusiasts, you can follow via the #SURGEcocreation hashtag, but the real action will be in the attendee chat! Here’s a quick video explaining how to get the best experience in the attendee chat.

How to get there:

Your first port of call is the event page. From there, you can register, or sign in if you’ve already done so! The site also has all the details you need to know about the schedule and sessions. If you haven’t signed up yet, the time is ripe: it’s free and you can earn CAE credits by attending live!

The Extras

Share your knowledge:

There will be a constant flow of knowledge sharing in the chat, as attendees and speakers alike share their insights.

However, this time around, we are asking some very pointed questions in search of very pointed responses: With this spring’s theme of co-creation, we spent a lot of time working with our partners and community to understand the common challenges we face in the industry. We’ll be asking attendees to reflect on specific questions throughout the SURGE journey that tackle some of these challenges, and select responses will make their way into the event eBooks.

Pass it on:

If we’ve done our job right, you will want to talk about the ideas you hear, and they are far more practicable if you have the opportunity to do so. For this reason, we highly recommend you invite along fellow colleagues.

Follow up:

Those eBooks we speak of: you can expect takeaways from the sessions, resources that were shared, insight that was added by attendees, and answers to the crowdsourced questions.

We look forward to seeing you there! Register here.
